About JobCatch
Last updated: 18 October 2026
JobCatch is a job search app and resume builder for Android, made for job seekers in India. It finds fresh jobs from company career pages and job boards, builds a resume an applicant tracking system can read, checks job offers for the signs of a scam, and keeps track of every application you send.
It was called CareerDost until October 2026. The name changed; the app, the developer and everything on your phone did not.
Why it exists
Looking for a job in India usually means five apps, a spreadsheet and a lot of spam. Job apps ask for a phone number and then the calls start. Resume apps let you spend an hour on your resume and then charge to download it, or sign you up for a "₹1 trial" that becomes a monthly charge. Fake offers ask freshers for a registration fee. Applications vanish without a reply.
JobCatch was built from those complaints. Each one became a rule the app follows — the full list is on the home page.
Who makes it
JobCatch is built and run by Sheela Labs, an independent software studio in India. It is not a recruitment agency, a placement consultancy or a job board, and it is not affiliated with any employer or with the job boards it reads. Nobody is paid to put a job in your feed, and we never sell "profile visibility".
Where the jobs come from
From company career pages and public job boards, checked in the background for the searches you save. The newest openings come first, the same job from two sources is shown once, and a posting that has been open for weeks is labelled with its age. Each provider's terms are respected, and some sources were declined because their terms did not allow it.
What stays on your phone
Your resume, notes, saved jobs and tracker live on the device. A resume file you upload is read once to fill in your resume and is not stored on our servers. The scam check and the ATS checks run on the phone, and nothing you paste into the scam check is sent anywhere.
Where AI is used, and where it is not
Turning an uploaded resume file into sections, and some ATS suggestions, use an AI language model — and your name, email address, phone number and links are removed before any text is sent. The company and role questions in interview prep come from a model that is given the job posting only, never your resume, and the app labels them as commonly reported. Cover letters, the scam check and the questions drawn from your own resume are worked out on your phone, without a model. Nothing in JobCatch invents an achievement for you. The details are in the privacy policy.
