Professional resume templates
Professional templates are restrained: serif type, clear rules, qualifications where they are expected. They suit finance, banking, audit, law, consulting, healthcare administration and senior management, where a resume is read carefully and judged on its seriousness. This group also holds two country formats — the UK CV and the North American resume.

How to choose
- Banking or Chartered for banking, audit, tax and accounts: qualifications and certifications above the history.
- Executive or Director for heads, leads and managers: the pitch and the scope come first.
- B-School for MBA placements: the dense one-page format, education first.
- UK CV or North America when you apply abroad: each follows its country's conventions on profile, photo and personal details.
Do not choose a professional template to look senior. A formal layout with thin content reads worse than a simple one; let your results carry the weight.
Questions
What is the best resume format for a bank job in India?
A reverse-chronological, single-column resume with your qualifications and certifications near the top. The Banking template is built that way. For government banks and PSU posts that ask for bio-data, see the Indian formats.
Should a senior resume be two pages?
Usually, yes, beyond about eight years. Keep the first page for your most recent and most relevant roles, and summarise older ones briefly.
