Driver cover letter example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
This letter was drafted by JobCatch's cover-letter writer from the sample Driver resume, for a plain posting for the role. It uses only what is already on the resume — the current job, its strongest bullets and the skills the posting asks for that the resume has. It invents nothing, which is why it is short.
The letter, as text
I am writing to apply for the Driver position. I currently work as Company Driver at Konkan Industries.
Some of what I have done:
- Drive senior managers of a manufacturing company across Mumbai and on the Mumbai–Pune highway.
- Eight years of driving with no accident or traffic fine.
- Keep the car's service, insurance and pollution certificates up to date, with a logbook for every trip.
The role asks for Hindi, English and Customer service, which I have worked with.
I would welcome the chance to talk about how I could contribute. My resume is attached. Thank you for your time.
What to add for a Driver role
Mention your licence class, years of accident-free driving and the routes you know. Employers hiring a driver are checking trust and record.
Before you send it
- Name the company and, if you can find it, the hiring manager.
- Add one sentence on why this company: something specific you read about it.
- Keep it under one page, and send it as a PDF with the same name and contact line as your resume.
What to leave out
- Adjectives about yourself — "passionate", "results-driven", "hardworking". Facts do that job better.
- Your whole resume again. Pick the two or three things that matter most for this job.
- Salary, notice period and personal details, unless the posting asks for them in the letter.
