Relationship Manager cover letter example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
This letter was drafted by JobCatch's cover-letter writer from the sample Relationship Manager resume, for a plain posting for the role. It uses only what is already on the resume — the current job, its strongest bullets and the skills the posting asks for that the resume has. It invents nothing, which is why it is short.
The letter, as text
I am writing to apply for the Relationship Manager position. I currently work as Relationship Manager at Unity Commercial Bank.
Some of what I have done:
- Handle 350 high-value customers with ₹180 crore in deposits and investments at a busy city branch.
- Achieved 112% of the annual target, including ₹14 crore in mutual fund and insurance sales.
- Kept the book's attrition under 4% a year through quarterly reviews with every customer.
The role asks for Client communication, KYC compliance, Loan processing, Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Excel and Stakeholder management, which I have worked with.
I would welcome the chance to talk about how I could contribute. My resume is attached. Thank you for your time.
What to add for a Relationship Manager role
Give the size of your book and your target achievement, and name the licences you hold. Banks hire relationship managers on the book they can grow.
Before you send it
- Name the company and, if you can find it, the hiring manager.
- Add one sentence on why this company: something specific you read about it.
- Keep it under one page, and send it as a PDF with the same name and contact line as your resume.
What to leave out
- Adjectives about yourself — "passionate", "results-driven", "hardworking". Facts do that job better.
- Your whole resume again. Pick the two or three things that matter most for this job.
- Salary, notice period and personal details, unless the posting asks for them in the letter.
