Operations Executive cover letter example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
This letter was drafted by JobCatch's cover-letter writer from the sample Operations Executive resume, for a plain posting for the role. It uses only what is already on the resume — the current job, its strongest bullets and the skills the posting asks for that the resume has. It invents nothing, which is why it is short.
The letter, as text
I am writing to apply for the Operations Executive position. I currently work as Operations Executive at Quickship Logistics.
Some of what I have done:
- Manage dispatch for 2,500 orders a day across two courier partners.
- Cut late shipments from 7% to 2% by moving pickup cut-offs and adding a second shift.
- Built the daily MIS dashboard in Excel that the city head reviews every morning.
The role asks for Microsoft Excel, Supply chain management, Inventory management, Vendor management, Process improvement and Data entry, which I have worked with.
I would welcome the chance to talk about how I could contribute. My resume is attached. Thank you for your time.
What to add for an Operations Executive role
Name the process you ran, its volume and one number you improved — turnaround, errors or cost. Operations heads want people who make the day run better.
Before you send it
- Name the company and, if you can find it, the hiring manager.
- Add one sentence on why this company: something specific you read about it.
- Keep it under one page, and send it as a PDF with the same name and contact line as your resume.
What to leave out
- Adjectives about yourself — "passionate", "results-driven", "hardworking". Facts do that job better.
- Your whole resume again. Pick the two or three things that matter most for this job.
- Salary, notice period and personal details, unless the posting asks for them in the letter.
