Operations Executive resume example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
Operations executives keep the day-to-day running — orders, deliveries, stock, vendors, reports — in logistics, e-commerce, retail, BPO and manufacturing. Employers want to see the process you ran, its volume, and the numbers you improved, such as turnaround time, error rates or cost.
What recruiters look for
- The process you ran and its daily or monthly volume
- Improvements in turnaround, accuracy or cost
- Tools: Excel, an ERP such as SAP or Tally, and MIS reports
- Coordination with vendors, field teams and customers

Fresher
Commerce graduate with strong Excel skills and a six-month internship in a warehouse's dispatch team, where I prepared daily MIS reports and tracked 400 orders a day.
Experienced
Operations executive with three years in e-commerce fulfilment. Manage dispatch for 2,500 orders a day and cut late shipments from 7% to 2%.
Skills, spelled the way postings spell them
An applicant tracking system matches the words in the job posting, and it does not reliably treat two spellings as one skill. The left column is the form most postings use; the right, other spellings people type. Use the posting's own spelling for each application, and list only what you can discuss in an interview.
| Skill | Also written as |

Bullet examples
Each bullet says what you did and what changed because of it. Change the numbers to your own; a recruiter will ask about every one.
- Manage dispatch for 2,500 orders a day across two courier partners.
- Cut late shipments from 7% to 2% by moving pickup cut-offs and adding a second shift.
- Built the daily MIS dashboard in Excel that the city head reviews every morning.
- Reconciled courier invoices monthly and recovered ₹3.5 lakh in overcharges.
- Trained 12 new packing staff on the quality checklist; returns for wrong items fell 30%.
For freshers: projects and internships
- Internship: prepared daily dispatch MIS reports for a warehouse handling 400 orders a day.
- Built an Excel tracker for pending deliveries that the team still uses.
- Coordinated logistics for a college festival with 3,000 visitors.
Mistakes to avoid
- Listing duties ("handled operations") with no volume or result.
- Undervaluing Excel. Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and MIS reports are core skills; say which you use.
- Leaving out cost savings. Recovered money and reduced waste are the strongest operations bullets.
What an ATS reads from this sample
An applicant tracking system turns the PDF into plain text before anyone reads it. This is that text for the sample above, extracted by the same code as "What the ATS reads" in the app. Everything is in reading order, under the right heading, with the name and email intact — which is what a single-column template is for.
