Pharmacist cover letter example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
This letter was drafted by JobCatch's cover-letter writer from the sample Pharmacist resume, for a plain posting for the role. It uses only what is already on the resume — the current job, its strongest bullets and the skills the posting asks for that the resume has. It invents nothing, which is why it is short.
The letter, as text
I am writing to apply for the Pharmacist position. I currently work as Pharmacist In-Charge at Sunrise Super Speciality Hospital.
Some of what I have done:
- Run a 24-hour hospital pharmacy dispensing about 600 prescriptions a day with a team of six.
- Cut expired-stock write-offs by 70% with a first-expiry-first-out check and monthly near-expiry reports.
- Keep the Schedule H1 register and narcotics records complete for every drug inspection.
The role asks for Pharmacy operations, Inventory management, Customer service, Clinical documentation, Microsoft Excel and English, which I have worked with.
I would welcome the chance to talk about how I could contribute. My resume is attached. Thank you for your time.
What to add for a Pharmacist role
Mention your registration, the setting you work in and your daily volume. For a hospital pharmacy, say how you keep schedule and cold-chain records.
Before you send it
- Name the company and, if you can find it, the hiring manager.
- Add one sentence on why this company: something specific you read about it.
- Keep it under one page, and send it as a PDF with the same name and contact line as your resume.
What to leave out
- Adjectives about yourself — "passionate", "results-driven", "hardworking". Facts do that job better.
- Your whole resume again. Pick the two or three things that matter most for this job.
- Salary, notice period and personal details, unless the posting asks for them in the letter.
