Product Analyst cover letter example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
This letter was drafted by JobCatch's cover-letter writer from the sample Product Analyst resume, for a plain posting for the role. It uses only what is already on the resume — the current job, its strongest bullets and the skills the posting asks for that the resume has. It invents nothing, which is why it is short.
The letter, as text
I am writing to apply for the Product Analyst position. I currently work as Product Analyst at Tiffinly Foods.
Some of what I have done:
- Defined the activation and retention metrics that 11 product teams report on every week.
- Found that users who saved an address in the first session retained twice as well; the onboarding change lifted week-4 retention 6 points.
- Designed and analysed 25 experiments, including sample-size planning and guardrail metrics.
The role asks for SQL, Data analysis, Statistics, Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel and Python, which I have worked with.
I would welcome the chance to talk about how I could contribute. My resume is attached. Thank you for your time.
What to add for a Product Analyst role
Name one analysis that changed a product decision and the tool you used. Product teams want analysts who make them decide, not just report.
Before you send it
- Name the company and, if you can find it, the hiring manager.
- Add one sentence on why this company: something specific you read about it.
- Keep it under one page, and send it as a PDF with the same name and contact line as your resume.
What to leave out
- Adjectives about yourself — "passionate", "results-driven", "hardworking". Facts do that job better.
- Your whole resume again. Pick the two or three things that matter most for this job.
- Salary, notice period and personal details, unless the posting asks for them in the letter.
