Digital Marketing Executive resume example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
Digital marketing is measured, so the resume should be too. Employers want the channels you run — SEO, paid search, social, email — the budgets you manage, and the leads, sales or traffic you produced at what cost.
What recruiters look for
- Channels: SEO, Google Ads, Meta ads, email, social media
- Budgets managed and results: leads, cost per lead, ROAS, traffic
- Analytics: GA4, Search Console, ad platform reports
- Content and campaign work, with numbers

Fresher
Digital marketing executive with Google Ads and Google Analytics certifications, and an internship running Instagram and SEO for a local coaching institute that doubled its enquiries.
Experienced
Digital marketing executive with three years at a D2C skincare brand. Manage ₹12 lakh a month in Google and Meta ads at a 3.4x ROAS, and grew organic traffic 2.5x through SEO.
Skills, spelled the way postings spell them
An applicant tracking system matches the words in the job posting, and it does not reliably treat two spellings as one skill. The left column is the form most postings use; the right, other spellings people type. Use the posting's own spelling for each application, and list only what you can discuss in an interview.

Bullet examples
Each bullet says what you did and what changed because of it. Change the numbers to your own; a recruiter will ask about every one.
- Manage ₹12 lakh a month across Google and Meta ads at a 3.4x return on ad spend.
- Grew organic traffic 2.5x in a year with 60 SEO articles and technical fixes found in Search Console.
- Cut cost per lead from ₹420 to ₹260 by rebuilding audiences and landing pages.
- Run a weekly email newsletter to 80,000 customers with a 28% open rate.
- Report channel performance weekly from GA4 and the ad platforms to the founders.
For freshers: projects and internships
- Internship: ran Instagram and local SEO for a coaching institute; enquiries doubled in four months.
- Built and ran a ₹5,000 Google Ads test campaign for a friend's bakery, with a written report.
- Earned the Google Ads Search and Google Analytics certifications.
Mistakes to avoid
- No numbers. Budget, cost per lead, ROAS and traffic growth are what marketers are hired on.
- Listing every platform you have logged into. Name the ones you have run campaigns on.
- Vanity metrics only. Followers and likes matter less than leads and sales.
What an ATS reads from this sample
An applicant tracking system turns the PDF into plain text before anyone reads it. This is that text for the sample above, extracted by the same code as "What the ATS reads" in the app. Everything is in reading order, under the right heading, with the name and email intact — which is what a single-column template is for.

Interview questions to prepare
The app's interview prep for this sample and a plain Digital Marketing Executive posting. It works from the resume and the posting only, and tells you how to prepare, never what to say.
Questions every interview has
- Tell me about yourself. Two minutes: what you do now (Digital Marketing Executive at Glowleaf Skincare), one result you are proud of, and why this role is next.
- Why do you want this job? Read their website and one recent piece of news before the call. Name something specific.
- Why are you leaving your current job? Say what you are moving towards. Do not criticise your employer.
- What is your notice period, and what salary are you expecting? Decide your number before the interview, so you are not deciding it on the call.

Questions
Which certifications help a digital marketing fresher?
Google's free Ads and Analytics certifications and Meta's Blueprint courses are widely recognised. A small campaign you ran yourself, with results, is worth more than another certificate.
Should I include personal blogs or social accounts?
Yes, if you grew them with real numbers. They show you can do the work, which is what an interviewer wants to talk about.
