Backend Developer cover letter example

I am writing to apply for the Backend Developer position. I currently work as Senior Backend Developer at Relaywave Systems.
Some of what I have done:
- Designed and own the notification service in Go, sending 3 crore messages a day at 99.95% uptime.
- Moved order events from database polling to Kafka, cutting end-to-end delay from 45 seconds to under 2.
- Redesigned the PostgreSQL schema for the ledger; the heaviest report query dropped from 14 s to 600 ms.
The role asks for Java, Go, Python, Spring Boot, Node.js and REST APIs, which I have worked with.

What to add for a Backend Developer role
Mention the scale you have worked at and one incident you handled well. Backend leads read letters for judgment under pressure more than for a tool list.
Before you send it
- Name the company and, if you can find it, the hiring manager.
- Add one sentence on why this company: something specific you read about it.
- Keep it under one page, and send it as a PDF with the same name and contact line as your resume.
What to leave out
- Adjectives about yourself — "passionate", "results-driven", "hardworking". Facts do that job better.
- Your whole resume again. Pick the two or three things that matter most for this job.
- Salary, notice period and personal details, unless the posting asks for them in the letter.
