Full Stack Developer cover letter example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
This letter was drafted by JobCatch's cover-letter writer from the sample Full Stack Developer resume, for a plain posting for the role. It uses only what is already on the resume — the current job, its strongest bullets and the skills the posting asks for that the resume has. It invents nothing, which is why it is short.
The letter, as text
I am writing to apply for the Full Stack Developer position. I currently work as Full Stack Developer at Invoxa Software.
Some of what I have done:
- Built the billing module end to end — PostgreSQL schema, Node.js API and React screens — now invoicing ₹4 crore a month.
- Moved the app from a single VM to containers on AWS ECS with GitHub Actions deploys; releases went from weekly to daily.
- Cut monthly AWS spend by 30% by right-sizing instances and moving reports to a read replica.
The role asks for JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Express.js and MongoDB, which I have worked with.
I would welcome the chance to talk about how I could contribute. My resume is attached. Thank you for your time.
What to add for a Full Stack Developer role
Say plainly which stack you are strongest in, then name one feature you shipped end to end. It answers the question every full stack posting is really asking.
Before you send it
- Name the company and, if you can find it, the hiring manager.
- Add one sentence on why this company: something specific you read about it.
- Keep it under one page, and send it as a PDF with the same name and contact line as your resume.
What to leave out
- Adjectives about yourself — "passionate", "results-driven", "hardworking". Facts do that job better.
- Your whole resume again. Pick the two or three things that matter most for this job.
- Salary, notice period and personal details, unless the posting asks for them in the letter.
