Engineering Manager cover letter example

- Hired 14 engineers in a year, with 90% still on the team after eighteen months.
The role asks for Team leadership, Stakeholder management, Agile methodology, Project management, Microservices and AWS, which I have worked with.

What to add for an Engineering Manager role
Write about the team, not your code: how many engineers, what you improved, and how you hire and grow people. Add one architecture decision you led.
Before you send it
- Name the company and, if you can find it, the hiring manager.
- Add one sentence on why this company: something specific you read about it.
- Keep it under one page, and send it as a PDF with the same name and contact line as your resume.
What to leave out
- Adjectives about yourself — "passionate", "results-driven", "hardworking". Facts do that job better.
- Your whole resume again. Pick the two or three things that matter most for this job.
- Salary, notice period and personal details, unless the posting asks for them in the letter.
