Angular Developer resume example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
Angular is the framework of choice at many banks, insurers, IT services firms and large enterprises in India, and those employers read resumes carefully for version and scale. Name the Angular version you work in, the size of the application, and the enterprise concerns you handled.
What recruiters look for
- Modern Angular (2+), with the versions you have worked on
- RxJS, TypeScript and state management
- Large forms, role-based screens and enterprise integrations
- Upgrades and migrations, which every Angular team faces

Fresher
Angular developer trained in Angular 17, TypeScript and RxJS, with two projects including an inventory dashboard. Completed a six-month internship at an IT services company.
Experienced
Angular developer with five years building banking and insurance applications. Led an upgrade from Angular 12 to 17 across 180 components and cut form load time by half.
Skills, spelled the way postings spell them
An applicant tracking system matches the words in the job posting, and it does not reliably treat two spellings as one skill. The left column is the form most postings use; the right, other spellings people type. Use the posting's own spelling for each application, and list only what you can discuss in an interview.
| Skill | Also written as |
|---|---|
| Angular | AngularJS, Angular 2+ |
| TypeScript | TS |
| JavaScript | JS, ES6, ECMAScript |
| HTML5 | HTML |
| CSS3 | CSS |
| SASS | SCSS |
| REST APIs | REST, RESTful APIs, REST API |
| Bootstrap | — |
| Material UI | MUI, MaterialUI |
| Unit testing | Unit tests |
| Git | Version control, GitHub, Bitbucket |
| Agile methodology | Agile, Scrum, Kanban |
Also worth listing if you have them: RxJS, NgRx.
Bullet examples
Each bullet says what you did and what changed because of it. Change the numbers to your own; a recruiter will ask about every one.
- Led the upgrade of a policy-management app from Angular 12 to 17 across 180 components, with no production incident.
- Built reactive forms for a 40-field loan application with validation shared between screens.
- Moved state from services to NgRx, removing a class of bugs where screens showed stale customer data.
- Cut initial load time by 50% with lazy-loaded modules and OnPush change detection.
- Raised unit-test coverage from 30% to 72% with Jasmine and Karma.
For freshers: projects and internships
- Built an inventory dashboard in Angular 17 with Angular Material and a mock REST API.
- Six-month internship at an IT services company: built screens for an internal HR portal.
- Completed a 40-hour RxJS course and wrote a blog post on operators that has 3,000 reads.
Mistakes to avoid
- Writing "AngularJS" when you mean modern Angular. AngularJS is the old 1.x framework, and a recruiter may read it as dated experience.
- Not stating versions. Enterprise teams care whether you know the Angular they run.
- Leaving out RxJS. It is central to Angular work and often a filter in the posting.
What an ATS reads from this sample
An applicant tracking system turns the PDF into plain text before anyone reads it. This is that text for the sample above, extracted by the same code as "What the ATS reads" in the app. Everything is in reading order, under the right heading, with the name and email intact — which is what a single-column template is for.

Interview questions to prepare
The app's interview prep for this sample and a plain Angular Developer posting. It works from the resume and the posting only, and tells you how to prepare, never what to say.
Questions every interview has
- Tell me about yourself. Two minutes: what you do now (Senior Angular Developer at Suraksha Insure Tech), one result you are proud of, and why this role is next.
- Why do you want this job? Read their website and one recent piece of news before the call. Name something specific.
- Why are you leaving your current job? Say what you are moving towards. Do not criticise your employer.
- What is your notice period, and what salary are you expecting? Decide your number before the interview, so you are not deciding it on the call.
About the skills the job asks for
- Tell me about a time you used JavaScript. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used TypeScript. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used HTML5. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.

Questions to ask them
- What would a good first three months in this role look like?
- Who would I work with most closely?
- What are the next steps, and when should I expect to hear back?
Templates that suit this role
All of these are single-column and read cleanly by an applicant tracking system. Classic is free, with no watermark.
Questions
Should I write Angular or AngularJS?
Write "Angular" for version 2 and later, which is almost certainly what you use. "AngularJS" means the 1.x framework; list it only if you really maintained a 1.x app, and say so.
Are Angular jobs mostly in IT services?
Many are — in services firms, banks, insurers and large enterprises — though product companies use it too. Those employers value upgrade experience, testing and following enterprise standards, so show them.
