React Developer resume example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
Most React postings in India ask for the same core — React with hooks, state management, TypeScript and an API layer — and then one or two extras like Next.js or testing. A recruiter scanning your resume wants to see that core in your first few lines and real screens you built in your bullets.
What recruiters look for
- Modern React: hooks, function components, and the state library the team uses
- TypeScript, which most product companies now expect
- Testing with Jest or React Testing Library
- Production features with users and numbers, not only courses

Summary examples
Fresher
React developer who has built three single-page apps with hooks, Redux and TypeScript, including a job tracker with 400 users. Writes tests with Jest.
Experienced
React developer with three years building dashboards for a logistics platform. Moved a 60,000-line codebase to TypeScript and cut re-renders on the main screen by 70%.
Skills, spelled the way postings spell them
An applicant tracking system matches the words in the job posting, and it does not reliably treat two spellings as one skill. The left column is the form most postings use; the right, other spellings people type. Use the posting's own spelling for each application, and list only what you can discuss in an interview.
| Skill | Also written as |

Also worth listing if you have them: React Query.
Bullet examples
Each bullet says what you did and what changed because of it. Change the numbers to your own; a recruiter will ask about every one.
- Migrated a 60,000-line React codebase from JavaScript to TypeScript over two quarters without a feature freeze.
- Cut re-renders on the live-tracking screen by 70% with memoisation and splitting the Redux store.
- Built the shipment dashboard used by 2,000 dispatchers a day, with filters, maps and CSV export.
- Replaced hand-written fetch logic with React Query, deleting 3,000 lines and fixing stale-data bugs.
- Set up React Testing Library; the team now writes a test with every bug fix.
For freshers: projects and internships
- Built a job-application tracker in React, TypeScript and Redux Toolkit with 400 users.
- Created a weather app with React Router and a public API, deployed on Vercel.
- Contributed two documentation fixes and one bug fix to an open-source React component library.
Mistakes to avoid
- Writing "ReactJS", "React.js" and "React" in different places. Pick one; most postings say "React".
- Listing class components and lifecycle methods as skills in 2026. Lead with hooks.
- Projects that are only tutorial clones. Change something, add a feature, and say what you added.
What an ATS reads from this sample
An applicant tracking system turns the PDF into plain text before anyone reads it. This is that text for the sample above, extracted by the same code as "What the ATS reads" in the app. Everything is in reading order, under the right heading, with the name and email intact — which is what a single-column template is for.

Interview questions to prepare
The app's interview prep for this sample and a plain React Developer posting. It works from the resume and the posting only, and tells you how to prepare, never what to say.
Questions every interview has
- Tell me about yourself. Two minutes: what you do now (React Developer at Trackfleet Logistics), one result you are proud of, and why this role is next.
- Why do you want this job? Read their website and one recent piece of news before the call. Name something specific.
- Why are you leaving your current job? Say what you are moving towards. Do not criticise your employer.
- What is your notice period, and what salary are you expecting? Decide your number before the interview, so you are not deciding it on the call.
About the skills the job asks for
- Tell me about a time you used JavaScript. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used TypeScript. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used React. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used Next.js. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used Redux. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used React Router. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
About what the resume claims
- You wrote: "Migrated a 60,000-line React codebase from JavaScript to TypeScript over two quarters without a feature freeze." Expect three follow-ups: how exactly, what was your own part, and how you know it worked.
- You wrote: "Cut re-renders on the live-tracking screen by 70% with memoisation and splitting the Redux store." Expect three follow-ups: how exactly, what was your own part, and how you know it worked.
- You wrote: "Built the shipment dashboard used by 2,000 dispatchers a day, with filters, maps and CSV export." Expect three follow-ups: how exactly, what was your own part, and how you know it worked.
Questions to ask them
- What would a good first three months in this role look like?
- Who would I work with most closely?
- What are the next steps, and when should I expect to hear back?
Templates that suit this role
All of these are single-column and read cleanly by an applicant tracking system. Classic is free, with no watermark.
Questions
Should I write React or ReactJS on my resume?
"React" is the spelling most postings use, and an ATS may treat the two as different words. If a specific posting says "ReactJS", use that spelling for that application.
Is Redux still worth listing?
Yes, if you have used it: many Indian product companies run large Redux codebases. Say Redux Toolkit if that is what you used, and mention React Query or Zustand if the posting does.
