iOS Developer resume example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
iOS roles in India are fewer than Android ones and are concentrated at product companies, fintechs and agencies building for overseas clients. They hire for Swift, SwiftUI, App Store experience and an eye for the platform's conventions.
What recruiters look for
- Swift and SwiftUI, with UIKit for existing code
- Apps on the App Store, and App Store review experience
- Architecture (MVVM), concurrency and Core Data
- Testing and crash-free rates

Summary examples
Fresher
iOS developer who writes Swift and SwiftUI, with an app on the App Store and a three-month internship at a design agency.
Experienced
iOS developer with five years building banking and travel apps in Swift. Led a SwiftUI rewrite of the booking flow and raised the crash-free rate to 99.8%.
Skills, spelled the way postings spell them
An applicant tracking system matches the words in the job posting, and it does not reliably treat two spellings as one skill. The left column is the form most postings use; the right, other spellings people type. Use the posting's own spelling for each application, and list only what you can discuss in an interview.
| Skill | Also written as |
|---|---|
| Swift | — |
| iOS development | iOS, SwiftUI |
| REST APIs | REST, RESTful APIs, REST API |
| Firebase | Firestore |
| Unit testing | Unit tests |
| Git | Version control, GitHub, Bitbucket |
| CI/CD | Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, CICD |
| Agile methodology | Agile, Scrum, Kanban |
Also worth listing if you have them: UIKit, Combine, Core Data, Xcode.
Bullet examples
Each bullet says what you did and what changed because of it. Change the numbers to your own; a recruiter will ask about every one.
- Led the SwiftUI rewrite of a travel app's booking flow; conversion on iOS rose 12%.
- Raised the crash-free user rate from 98.9% to 99.8% by fixing threading issues with Swift concurrency.
- Built offline trip storage with Core Data, used by 70% of active users on flights.
- Took 40 releases through App Store review with no rejection after the first year.
- Added snapshot and unit tests, and set up builds on Xcode Cloud.
For freshers: projects and internships
- Published a study-timer app built in SwiftUI on the App Store.
- Internship at a design agency: built screens for two client apps in UIKit.
- Completed Apple's Develop in Swift course and the 100 Days of SwiftUI challenge.
Mistakes to avoid
- No App Store link. It is the iOS equivalent of a portfolio.
- Objective-C at the top. Keep it if you have it, but lead with Swift and SwiftUI.
- Ignoring design. iOS teams expect you to know Apple's Human Interface Guidelines; mention work with designers.
What an ATS reads from this sample
An applicant tracking system turns the PDF into plain text before anyone reads it. This is that text for the sample above, extracted by the same code as "What the ATS reads" in the app. Everything is in reading order, under the right heading, with the name and email intact — which is what a single-column template is for.

Interview questions to prepare
The app's interview prep for this sample and a plain iOS Developer posting. It works from the resume and the posting only, and tells you how to prepare, never what to say.
Questions every interview has
- Tell me about yourself. Two minutes: what you do now (Senior iOS Developer at Tripnest Travel Tech), one result you are proud of, and why this role is next.
- Why do you want this job? Read their website and one recent piece of news before the call. Name something specific.
- Why are you leaving your current job? Say what you are moving towards. Do not criticise your employer.
- What is your notice period, and what salary are you expecting? Decide your number before the interview, so you are not deciding it on the call.
About the skills the job asks for
- Tell me about a time you used Swift. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used REST APIs. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used iOS development. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.

Questions to ask them
- What would a good first three months in this role look like?
- Who would I work with most closely?
- What are the next steps, and when should I expect to hear back?
Templates that suit this role
All of these are single-column and read cleanly by an applicant tracking system. Classic is free, with no watermark.
Questions
Do I need a Mac to become an iOS developer?
Yes: Xcode runs only on macOS, and you need it to build and publish an app. Many developers start on a second-hand Mac mini.
SwiftUI or UIKit on my resume?
Both, if you know both. New screens are mostly SwiftUI, but most large apps still have UIKit code, and interviewers ask about both.
Next: the iOS Developer cover letter the app drafts from this resume, and how to show iOS development, REST APIs, Firebase on a resume.
