React Native Developer resume example
By Bhagirath Sheela, founder of JobCatch ·
React Native teams hire for one question: can you ship a mobile app that people install and keep? Show apps on the Play Store or App Store, their ratings or installs, and the native problems you solved — those are what separate a mobile developer from a web developer who tried mobile.
What recruiters look for
- Published apps with store links, installs or ratings
- Both Android and iOS releases, including store review
- Native modules, performance and crash-rate work
- Expo or bare workflow, matching the team's setup

Skills, spelled the way postings spell them
An applicant tracking system matches the words in the job posting, and it does not reliably treat two spellings as one skill. The left column is the form most postings use; the right, other spellings people type. Use the posting's own spelling for each application, and list only what you can discuss in an interview.
| Skill | Also written as |

Bullet examples
Each bullet says what you did and what changed because of it. Change the numbers to your own; a recruiter will ask about every one.
- Shipped 38 releases of a fitness app on Android and iOS; installs grew from 50,000 to 6 lakh.
- Raised the crash-free session rate from 97.1% to 99.6% by fixing memory leaks found through Sentry.
- Cut cold start time on low-end Android phones from 4.8 s to 2.3 s by enabling Hermes and lazy-loading screens.
- Wrote a native module in Kotlin for step counting, replacing an abandoned third-party library.
- Set up over-the-air updates and automated store builds, so fixes reach users the same day.
For freshers: projects and internships
- Published an expense-splitting app on Google Play with Expo and Firebase: 5,000 installs, 4.5 rating.
- Built a college notice-board app with push notifications, used by 1,100 students.
- Interned at a startup and fixed 25 layout bugs on small Android screens.
Mistakes to avoid
- No store links. A published app is the strongest evidence a mobile developer has.
- Only mentioning Android. Say whether you have shipped to iOS too, and handled App Store review.
- Ignoring performance. Start time, crash rate and app size are what mobile teams are measured on.
What an ATS reads from this sample
An applicant tracking system turns the PDF into plain text before anyone reads it. This is that text for the sample above, extracted by the same code as "What the ATS reads" in the app. Everything is in reading order, under the right heading, with the name and email intact — which is what a single-column template is for.

Interview questions to prepare
The app's interview prep for this sample and a plain React Native Developer posting. It works from the resume and the posting only, and tells you how to prepare, never what to say.
Questions every interview has
- Tell me about yourself. Two minutes: what you do now (Senior React Native Developer at Fitstreak Health), one result you are proud of, and why this role is next.
- Why do you want this job? Read their website and one recent piece of news before the call. Name something specific.
- Why are you leaving your current job? Say what you are moving towards. Do not criticise your employer.
- What is your notice period, and what salary are you expecting? Decide your number before the interview, so you are not deciding it on the call.
About the skills the job asks for
- Tell me about a time you used JavaScript. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used TypeScript. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.
- Tell me about a time you used React. Pick one real example: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed.

Questions
Does a React Native developer need native Android or iOS skills?
Not to start, but they set you apart. Knowing enough Kotlin or Swift to write a native module or debug a build is what product companies ask about in senior interviews.
Should I list Expo?
Yes, if you used it. Many teams now build with Expo, and recruiters search for it. Say whether you used the managed or bare workflow if you know.
